Advocacy for Immigration Reform: Meeting Your Lawmakers

Maya Angelou once wisely said, "I learned a long time ago the wisest thing I can do is be on my own side, be an advocate for myself and others like me."

Today, this sentiment rings true more than ever. We are fighting against a discriminatory law that has condemned 1.5 million people to lifelong backlogs. The most effective way to bring about change? Standing up for ourselves and our community.

Over the past 15 years, our most successful strategy has been direct advocacy. By meeting with members of Congress and demanding fair treatment under the law, we've made significant strides.

To continue pushing for progress, we need your help. One key objective? Securing the passage of the country-cap removal bill. This can only be achieved if our community voices their support to their representatives and urges them to cosponsor and pass the bill.

To assist you in this endeavor, we've put together an ADVOCACY GUIDE based on our years of experience advocating both in Washington, DC and locally. This comprehensive guide will equip you with the knowledge and resources you need to meet with your elected representatives and advocate for equality under the law for you and your family.

Please note, while you can refer to the last congress's version of the bill for familiarization, the guide will be updated with new strategies and paths as soon as we have updates to share for the new congress. Together, we can make a difference.
